Peacebuilders Canada has partnered with CharityVillage and Story Money Impact to bring free access to the award-winning documentary Conviction.

Please join us on Thursday, October 7, for a live discussion with the co-director and two protagonists from the film. Conviction follows incarcerated women as they imagine a radically different kind of society – one that supports and nurtures the most vulnerable in our community – instead of punishing.

Join our expert panel to discuss some of the themes explored in the film, such as the stigma surrounding mental illness, resources available to immigrant families, the dislocation and disconnection arising from global migration, and the importance of cultural competence in mental health care.

Panelists include:

  • Kim Pate, Canadian Senator
  • Ariella Pahlke, Conviction co-director
  • Bianca Mercer, documentary participant
