February 28, 2025We’ve just completed another impactful cycle of Sister 2 Sister, an 8-week empowerment and mentorship program designed for racialized female-identifying youth. Through this initiative, participants gain the confidence, guidance, and community support they need to thrive.
For Sarah, this program was more than just a weekly gathering—it was a turning point.
“Before Sister 2 Sister, I felt alone in my struggles. I doubted myself, my voice, and my future. But in this space, I found sisters who uplifted me, mentors who believed in me, and the courage to believe in myself.”
Sarah’s story is one of many. Through holistic practices, safe spaces, and culturally responsive mentorship, Peacebuilders is transforming lives—helping young women like Sarah build resilience, heal from past experiences, and step into their power.
*Sarah stated, “From the start, I was instantly greeted with a warm welcome from the facilitators and the girls who were super sweet and inclusive. I enjoyed a lot of the activities we did, but one I enjoyed the most was in our last session on “healthy behaviour and boundaries”.
We covered various topics about healthy relationships and what they look like and played different interactive games. Being included in these activities helped teach me the importance of mental health, behaviours, stress, and things that I usually would have overlooked simply because when I tried speaking out about it.
I was overlooked but being a part of this Peacebuilders program helped me a lot with improving myself and coming to realizations about many things.”
