Volunteer

Volunteer with us!

Interested in volunteering?

Our volunteers come to us from a variety of backgrounds, ages, and life experiences. Some are lawyers, educators, mediators, social workers, mental health professionals, administrators, students, and members of the community. What they all have in common is a strong commitment to social justice and youth empowerment, and a willingness to take the time to listen.

For all volunteer inquiries,  please complete the Volunteer Application Form and  then contact Eliana Paraedes, our Volunteer Coordinator.

Peacebuilders greatly appreciates our team of committed volunteers that support our Restorative Youth Circles and School Programming.
Due to the nature of our work, we cannot guarantee the number of cases that will be assigned to each volunteer. Each youth case spans over a period of 12 – 16 weeks, depending on the unique nature of each case.
We carefully match our volunteers to our youth cases by taking into consideration a number of factors such as: demographics, characteristics and shared interests between our youth and volunteers.
Although Peacebuilders greatly welcomes and appreciates volunteer involvement in our programs, we are not currently accepting new volunteer applications as our volunteer roster is currently at capacity. This is in an effort to ensure that all of our trained and active volunteers are placed on Restorative Youth Circle cases in a timely fashion.
We update our volunteer page on a monthly basis and also have volunteer postings for special events that may occur throughout the year. Please check our webpage for further updates on volunteer recruitment.

We are looking for volunteers in the following roles:

Events and Fundraising

Volunteers who have an interest in events and fundraising can donate their time and talents in various ways including joining an event committee, helping with marketing and communications, event decor and design, outreach and sponsorship,  or for general day-of-event operations.

Our annual fundraising gala, Spring for Peace, is planned, executed, and managed entirely by a team of volunteers along with Peacebuilders staff. Every spring there are numerous opportunities for volunteers to help with this large gala event!

Please note that the minimum time commitment for Events and Fundraising volunteers is six months.

Board of Directors

There is no formal application to apply to join our Board of Directors. Interested parties are asked to please email info@peacebuilders.ca to inquire about available opportunities.
